This page explains what data Madrid Cinemas collects and how we handle it.
Who we are
Madrid Cinemas is a non-commercial hobby project that aggregates publicly available cinema schedules for Madrid. The site is maintained by an individual, not a company.
Data we collect
Browsing the public site does not require an account. Standard web server logs retain visitor IP addresses, user-agent strings, and requested URLs for a short retention period to diagnose errors and detect abuse. Aggregated, non-identifying page view counts are collected via Plausible Analytics, which is a cookieless service. If you choose to sign in with Google, see "Sign-in with Google" below for the data we then store.
Sign-in with Google
Sign-in is optional and is provided exclusively through Google OAuth, so you can save your favourite cinemas. When you sign in we receive your Google account ID, email address, name, and profile picture URL from Google, and we store these to identify your account and display your name in the site header. We do not request access to any other Google services. You can delete your account from the account page at any time, which removes your stored profile information and your saved favourites.
Cookies
The public site sets a session cookie only when you log in. The same kind of session cookie is used by administrators of the private admin area.
Third parties
Film metadata and posters are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). Posters are served directly from TMDB's CDN, so TMDB may observe requests for those images. Ticket booking links point to the cinemas' own websites; their privacy policies apply once you follow a link.
Your rights
Under the EU GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Contact us using the address below to exercise these rights.
